RE: Narcs

Title: Narcs
We count every shift (Ativan , MS, Demerol, Versed (soon) , and valium) and track usage on a sheet along with a Run log for the shift.  By the way we have had standing orders for these drugs for quite some time. If the unit goes out of service it either gets turned back to the sups or (in the case of our regular 12 hour cars) goes into a combination locked box to await the next shift.

I was wondering how other services keep track of the narc counts.  Do you count every shift or everytime a crew member is switched out.  We work 24s but some people may do a 12 hour shift.
