Re: securing the A/C litter onto hospital gurney



 
We routinely must secure our stretchers to the various hospital stretchers we use. I feel removing the mattress from the hospital stretcher and securing frame to frame works best. We also use the straps from the ambulance stretcher and ours to secure our stretcher. Removing the mattress prevents the litter from toppling to one side or the other. Our stretcher is relatively narrow, and it also helps reassure the patien they aren't going to slip to one side or the other. Siderails are also always placed up.
