Re: Best Helmets

We just got the new CGF Gallet helmets where I work. I have nothing to compare them to (since mine is the first helmet I've had), but they seem comfortable and lightweight and they look very good. They seem to have a fairly slender "profile"...I don't bump it in our BO-105's as much as I expected to.
Most of our pilots (all of whom who have worn different helmets) seem to like them, too. Any questions on them please let me know....I'll do my best to help you out.

I personally use the Alpha helmet.  I have been using it for the past 3
years without any problems.  It does seem to be a fragile helmet as far as
the wiring goes.  But the new helmet that looks really good is the CGF
Gallet helmet.  It's lighter than any helmet on the market.  Safety wise I
still have some reservations due to its much thinner polystyrene absorber.
Several people I know like them.  I would really look at them if I was to
but again.  Alphas $1200, CGF $1400.

What helmets are being used for EMS flight operations? I'm familiar with the
SPH-5 helmet. Are there any of you who previously used the SPH-5 and have
chosen something different? If so what helmet was chosen and why is it
better?

Thanks for your help!
