There are a couple of options for advanced trauma courses. The Transport
Nurse Advanced
Trauma Course (TNATC) is an excellent course designed specifically for
transport personnel.
Advanced Trauma Care for Nurses (ATCN) is another good course which is
taught concurrently with ATLS
in which the nurse participants attend the ATLS lectures and then during the
ATLS skills and testing
stations, the nurses participate in separate ATCN skill stations. Nurse
participants receive verification
upon successful completion of the course. The ATCN skill stations do not
include
any hands-on advanced procedures so I would recommend you request to
participate in the ATLS
skills stations if your program has advanced procedures in place.
