A great point is made and I couldn't agree more. I think another issue at
looking at high volume services is how many calls do the medics actually
make? I have known rural services that make many calls per person/responder
even thought their overall volume is less. Likewise seen services that do
thousands of runs a year, (high volume) but if you figure out what each
medic does, since the number of employees is greater and more trucks on the
street they end up not doing a lot of runs per person... I vote for the
less volume but more runs per person
