I think it all depends on transport time. Any patient with a SwanG should not be without PA monitoring for more than 15 minutes and even that may be too long. Without monitoring you would not be able to notice if it was to wedge and that could be disastrous for the patient and you. Alines can be protected by simply keeping the transducer on the line and either infuse with a pump or pressure infuser at 3 cc (ideally heparin flush solution).
