Re: Duty Status During Pregnancy
Since I have flown through two of my three pregnancies and am due to
deliver any day now, I'll weigh in (and I weigh quite a bit). Our
policy allows active flight duty with medical certificate from attending
Ob/Gyn and permission of Medical Director through 38 weeks for first
pregnancies and 36 weeks for second and subsequent pregnancies. After
32 weeks active flight duty is dependant on crew members condition,
fatigue etc. I have never had any problems and have been able to
perform all of my job duties (lifting included) while pregnant.
Everyone is different and I think policies need to be structured so that
there is some room for individual situations to be addressed. Hope this
helps!

I also would like to hear what everyone's policy is. I
fly with a NICU team and I'm going to start trying to
get pregnant. The info would be great.
