Subject: RE: Survey
We have a blood fridge in the hangar with 4 units of O-. Blood bank
restocks once a week, we check fridge/units each morning. We have
an alarm
system on the fridge which sounds in blood bank/lab and in
maintenance as
well as in the hangar. We take blood with us (in a cooler with ice
packs)
on all trauma flights and any medical flight for which transfusion
might be
a possibility, no matter how remote. Works well - we have no delays
in
lift-off/response times. Jo Pufahl, RN, SMDC LifeFlight, Duluth, MN
