Re: Hot vs cold loading and unloading

We typically stay running for scene calls, unless there's a long
extrication going on and we're going to be on the ground for longer than
10-15 minutes. We unload hot at the trauma center that we primarily transport
to, but another one in the region prefers that we shut down before
offloading, so we do.
We also shut down any time there is any type of safety issue - an
unusually hard to load patient, inexperienced people on the ground crew, or
poor crowd control near the LZ. These are all rare occurences.
None of the EMS agencies we work with seem to have a preference one
way or another.
