Re: IABP use
hello regarding Iabp's
We are a ground based critical care but we fly for Iabp's and neonates. we
have a datasc0pe 12 our own specifically for Iabp transport. Only a few
problems#1 the data scope 12 wil not fit in certain aircraft-- We use Stat
Medevac for our team flights and I know first hand the our datascope12 will
not fit into an EC135 no room for the device t fit at the patient legs---with
the BK117 the device will go at the pt's legs--no problem. We use"bucher
Plates" to secure our ballon pump to our squad floor or while in the
aircraft. Problem #2 we often have to use our own a-line setup's
specifically for use with our balloon pump which takes more time--alot of
times on Iabp, the waveform will be dampened,if you do a rapid flush of the
aline (with the device of standby) it may help if that doesent work you may
have to convert to what ever type of aline setp your device accepts.
Any other ?'s I can answer email Me
