Re: IABP use
Steve,
LifeFlight in Pittsburgh maintains IABPs at all of our base sites, each with
a mount, so that we can do balloon transports from any base to pick up a
patient at any referring hospital in our service area. I'd be uncomfortable
taking the referring hospital's pump, not knowing if it's as well-maintained
as I'd like.
Our hospital's CE dept. does an outstanding job of maintaining our pumps,
when we have a service issue.
