Re: IABP use
Our balloon pumps are assigned to the aeromed area. This is "our" balloon
pump. If it breaks, we pay to fix it.
We do occasionally borrow an IABP if we are doing a turnaround flight and
our IABP is at our remote base. Usually, borrow one from the receiving
hospital, but occasionally from the referring hospital.
We currently have two IABPs (Datascope 97E and 98T).
Our service does 100+ IABP runs per year. We utilize only our staff for
transports.
