Subject: Ventilators

The program that I work for is presently investigating purchasing a new transport ventilator.  The one that we use now works great for most adults. The problem is that it does only volume control ventilation.  So, it doesn't work for smaller children.  We transport children as young as 28 days up through adults.  We do interfacility as well as scene work.

I wondered  what's being used in other programs with a similar patient population?  We are especially interested in a vent that does volume as well as pressure control.  Hopefully, that would enable us to carry one ventilator and meet the needs of our entire patient population.

Thanks
Donna
