Re: Turf battles

It has been less than 4 months and we are back to this subject again. I guess I am blessed to work in a program where our paramedics and nurses are equally respected for what they do. I am not saying it is always perfect, but Good Lord, we all have our places in this world or we wouldn't be here right now. I have seen RNs treat paramedics like dog food, and I have seen it go the other way, too. All in all, I think it has come along way in the 12 years I have been a nurse. It won't get any better if we keep harboring this resentment amongst ourselves. Don't you think we should be the ones educating the ignorant?

When are these RIDICULOUS battles going to end?

If you want to do nursing tasks, go to nursing school, If the nurses want to do prehospital medicine they have to get a prehospital certification (hence, how many programs require an RN to hold an EMT or P cert)

All these ongoing disagreements do is to further degrade our professions collectively.
