Re: standards



David,

I believe that you'll find this information as 
recommendations CAMTS standards, Air Force studies, etc.

There references to it in Flight Nursing 2 ed as well as 
position papers By ASTNA ( or was), NFPA. While this 
standard is not mandatory I wonder what OHSA position 
would take based upon it's law concern personal 
protective equipment. I'm sure that some states OHSA 
would allow it to pass but others would levy hefty 
fines. OSHA seems to be a new term to health care but 
with the mandated needle stick and HBV issues I'm sure 
it will be more familar. I'm not an expert on this issue 
but speak from a point of sitting across the table from 
a OSHA officer facing a $177,000.00 violation fine.
