What is best for your patient? In NJ we arent that much different as far as 
ground equipment than the helicopter program. Besides the RSI for certain 
circumstances you really can't justify delaying your patients care by 10 
mins.  just so they can get a ride to the Trauma center in a different type 
of ambulance. Most patients would benefit from an expedited transport in my 
opinion even though I believe in job security for flight programs, being a 
prospective candidate myself. As far as protocols go, you should follow whats 
been implemented for your program obviously since it was structured that way 
for one reason or another.
