Re: intubation sedation and analgesia



Hi Brent - Fentanyl & Versed are a wonderful combination - used for patients for induction & after induction to maintain sedation/analgesia - also works very well in our attempt to not paralyze patients - neurosurgery gets quite irate if we paralyze them (no neuro exam except pupils remaining) - they can at least tolerate it if we only give sedatives/analgesics - my favorite quote from peds anesthesia at our house was simply "if they are still moving, they're not sedated enough!"
