CAMTS has no requirement regarding minimum experience for Flight Paramedics, only minimum training and the need for appropriate state licensing or certification. Required years of experience are left to the discretion of the flight program. Core educational requirements depend on the programs mission statement and scope of care but include currency in certifications which may include BCLS, ACLS, ATLS audit, PALS or APLS and NRP. (Other equivalent education is also considered.) The newly released 5th edition of the CAMTS standards also encourages acquiring FP-C (Certified Flight Paramedic) and NREMT-P.
