When I was chief flight medic for LifeFlight-Miami, we (the adult division) had an informal arrangement with the coast guard to supply ALS flight nurse or medics on both their helo and jets.  I personally responded with them on 3 occasions 2 rotor and 1 fw.  We also did intercepts with our fw team and their rw in remote island locations where they hoisted a patient from a ship and then turned them over to our crew.
