RE: peds transport
I have been watching this discussion for a
couple of days now and I have been surprised
at some of the responses I have seen. I am
surprised that anyone would let a child's
actions control the care that they provide.
As many have pointed out, "he wouldn't stop
crying" is not going to hold up in court.
However, I have also been surprised that
people suggest wrestling a child into a
restraint system is "good patient care"! A
child (or anyone for that matter) should
always be properly restrained during
transport, but before we jump to wrestling
them down lets first consider sedation and /
or paralytics if need be.
