Re: peds transport
I don't know of a specicfic law, but child restraint laws apply to all
including EMS, remember we must obey all state traffic laws regardless of
the situation, bust one and something happens guess who is liable and guess
who your employer will dump on. FARs have specifics regarding info on child
restraints and how they must be approved. What is the difference if a parent
doesn't seatbelt the child or we don't, especially in the back of an
ambulance doing 80 or an aircraft in turbulence. Either way the child will
become a projectile and be severely injured. Who are we to tell parents how
stupid they've been, or what gives us the right to put on car seat and child
safety programs if we don't "practice what we preach" If you like I can
research it in the FARS and state traffic laws.
