Re: Sedation with new drug
I don't know alot about Dexmedetomidate. It's
structurally similar to etomidate but acts at a
different site. Dexmedetomidate acts as an alpha 2
agonist. I've read that at induction doses that it can
cause hypotension and tachycardia. As you know, the
cardiovascular stability of etomidate is what makes it a
great drug for our use. Would like to hear more about
Dexmedetomidate.
