Re: BK 117 Cots/Mounts

We used to use a Ferno model stretcher (i don't
remember the model but it was the one that funeral
homes would use. A "one man" stretcher)
Now we have the Stryker Rugged Mx Pro I think its
called (I'm not at work right now) -- the large yellow
and black one-- a 2 person cot. We had the mounts
manufactured and received FAA approval. Also was able
to have a portable "D" cylinder O2 tank mounted on the
head end of the stretcher.
It took some getting used to. Its heavier and you need
2 people to load and unload it. It is more stable and
easier to move patients. It fits into just about any
ambulance. So if you land at a remote LZ (scene or
hospital) it is very quickly loaded into the ambo.
The old Ferno wasn't able to be collapsed to any level
so at scene calls you had to have it in its full up
position all the time. It sits up higher in the
helicopter so pt care/access is a little easier.
