RE: helmet vs. headset
I remember hearing a story of a flight crew in South
Dakota that put a BO-105 into the water hard. The
aircraft sank before the crew could get out. The entire
crew wore helmets and all got out alive. They felt that
the helmets kept them conscious and able to egress
safely.
