RE: helmet vs. headset
I've always felt helmets were better to wear for the "routine" poundings we
sometimes take in the back of aircraft during turbulence and moving around
and stuff, rather than saving us from "the big one". For those of you who
wear helmets and have had the same one for any period of time, look at
it...those marks aren't ALL from throwing it on the ground at scenes!!

does anyone know why the military chose to utilize them as far back as the
60's? There's likely a reason.
