Re: helmet vs. headset
Helmets are mandatory and supplied to all crewmembers by our service as well
as nomex flightsuits. Visors are worn down while operating in or around
running aircraft. New helmets are purchased with dual visors, older single
visor helmets are to be upgraded to duals (when funds permit). Currently we
have over 45 helmets in our inventory.
Personal opinion: headsets allow no protection and turn a survivable crash
into a non-survivable one (but are more comfortable day to day).
No offense to headset folks.

PS-For vastly improved comfort replace the TPL liner with a Zetaliner from
oregonaero.com (no, I am not a salesman).
