Re: 24 hour shift




At MedFlight of Ohio we work 24's at all of our rotor bases, At base 1 they 
at times split them into 12's. Recently the full time nurses switched to 
24/72's with a psudo kelley day every 4 weeks, which gives you 7 days off 
every four weeks.  as far as volume base 1 is busy but most are close in 
flights <1 to 1 hour. The other out bases vary from 1 hour to 3 hours from 
start to finish.  Yes at times you finish the shift wipped.

We do have a formula to figure if work overs will be alowed it takes into 
account rest, number of flights, previous work in the 24hours previous to 
you flight shift and hours of uninterrupted sleep.  Some how that works out 
into a formula wich tells you how many if any hours you may work over.
