Re: 24 hour shift
A few thoughts.....
For those programs that staff 24 hour shifts, how do you mean "rest"
do you have facilities for quiet, uninterupted SLEEP when not flying? Are the programs stand-alone private or hospital based? does Management support the idea of sleeping? What is your call volume and when do they most often occur (D vs N)? do you "staff" the ED or other units during your shifts and for what hours. How many staff are needed to achieve a workable schedule, (and what is it?) to meet the needs of vacations, illness, and personal requests to avoid having any one work over 24 hours.
1 AM, got to go start an IV for a floor, fly safe.
