Re: EMT-P to RN programs
John,
I congratulate you and wish you the best of luck in your
endeavor to develop a EMT-P to RN program. It's a logical
transition for those that want to move in that direction.
Agreed that the Medic background will be of a great asset
to ER's and ICU's. I was a medic in the Air Force (EMT-I)
and flew air rescue. I got my BSN, started in working in
an ICU. I just got hired by Inova AirCare in Fairfax VA.
I know of many Medics that would make fine RN's. I guess
the only roadblock would be nursing itself--there tends to
be a great deal of resistance to creative thinking and unique
programs.
