Re: Ineffective Norcuron



Thanks to everyone for the answers so far.  Just to clear a couple of 
points:
     The patient was a 26 year old female wih a history of epilepsy, for 
which she took pheonbarb.  She had one IV started prior to our arrival, and 
we initiated a second.  Meds were pushed through both, with the same lack of 
effect.  We did suspect recreational drug use, but had no hard evidence to 
support this.
     All of our narcotics and RSI meds are kep with the flight crew at all 
times, and are locked up in the base when not out on a flight.  I doubt that 
exposure to environment caused a breakdown, but that is always something to 
consider.
     The crew on the shift prior to mine used norcuron from this same lot, 
with no problems, so I don't think it was a bad batch.  Again, certainly 
something to consider.
