Re: transvenous pacers
I agree with George. I have been involved in the transfer of several
patients with transvenous pacemakers and have encountered no problems while
switching units. We simply match the output and rate settings already in use
and activate our unit. Then, using the team approach, a crew should be able
to transfer the patient from one unit to another without missing a beat. Of
course now would not be the time to wonder "how does this thing work?" so
make an effort to maintain familiarity with the generator because such
patients are not transported very often by many providers.
