Re: Looking Deeper

Flight Nursing in the civilian sector did not exist when I entered nursing. As civilian air medical service evolved in the late 70';s it became a natural route for my interest as a paramedic and nurse in emergency and critical care patient care. Decision making. Accountability. Autonomy. The challenge of taking and doing what is routinely accepted and easily done in a "normal" hospital environment and doing it anywhere, anytime, for anyone, adult, pediatric, medical, trauma, in a ground unit, fixed wing or rotor wing. Like Allan, I enjoy the hours of the hospital environment, but would gladly return to the transport environment given the right opportunity.
