Well put, Josh. As with many issues in transport medicine, there are strong opinions both ways. As professionals, however, we have a duty to rely on research-based data rather than anecdotal reports. This holds true for all aspects of our industry, not just the "12 v. 24 hour shifts" debate. Transport medicine is a relatively young profession and there are many areas wide open to research ideas. For those interested in conducting research, there are several resources available to you - including your professional associations and journal. The process is both enlightening and rewarding. I look forward to seeing your names at AMTC, CCTMC, or in Air medical Journal.
Be Safe,
Jackie
