LMA Fastrach
Another ... who is using this device?
Beginning in October, Bayflite will implement the new LMA-Fastrach device on our aircrafts. "This is an advanced type of LMA airway designed to facilitate tracheal intubation with an ednotracheal tube. It permits single-handed insertion from any position without moving the head and neck from a neutral position and without placing fingers in the patient's mouth. Because it can be used as an airway device in its own right, ventilatory control and patient oxygenation may be continuous during intubation attempts, lessening the likelihood of desaturation."
The LMA-Fastrach will be used for unexpected difficult airways when the traditional endotracheal intubation is unsuccessful, and before progressing to a surgical airway.
QUESTION:
Are any other programs utilizing this device currently?
If so, what is your rate of use and your success rate at endotracheal intubation utilizing the device?
Thank you for you input. Feel free to e-mail me at my personal e-mail address below.
