Al,
I have a substantial file of data at the office. I'll email the references
tomorrow. I used it while attempting to educate some local ems pilots on
the benefits of helmet use in EMS air medicine. Needless to say, the use of
helmets remains optional, not required. They cited excuses such as too heavy
for their necks, restricts visibility, and my favorite went something like
this:
" I haven't needed it in 17 years, I don't need it now"
My opinion, (as substantiated by the non-fatal crash in Melbourne, FL and
numerous large foul strikes), helmets, in high risk activities, saves
lives. Whether it is on a motorcycle, bicycle or a EMS helicopter crew
member.
