Re: DNR in the Field



Regarding the bracelet idea, there was a prominent
court case in Canada a few years ago where a patient
in a nursing home was found by his wife to have one of
those bracelets.  Unfortunately, the decision was made
by the medical staff and did not include the
consultation of the wife.  The patient had end stage
everything (respiratory, cardiac AND alzheimers), but
the wife still held hope.  In the end the courts ruled
in favour of the wife.

By the sounds of this discussion, I think it may be
safe to say that I can safely retire in Ohio, but just
in case I'm going to have tattooed on my vocal cords,
"If you can read this you are too close".

I really, REALLY don't envy you guys (and ladies) in
those situations, especially when I find out how much
you get paid.
