Re: DNR in the Field



In Wisconsin we have what is called a "DNR bracelet."  It can either be a plastic (hospital type) bracelet with the patient's name, signature and physician's signature and a state seal (for authenticity) or it can be a metal medic alert bracelet with the patient's name, DNR status and physician name on it.  The band must be on the patient to be valid, it cannot be defaced or lying next or taped to the pt.  The DNR bracelet is the only acceptable form of prehospital DNR in the state, others may be taken into consideration by med. control on a case by case basis and a code may be called in the field if warranted.
