re: high risk OB transports

I'm sure this is going to light a fire under someone's tail, but I just had to respond. I
find it interesting that "most training can take place in 2 or 3 days". Most flight programs require so many years of ER/ICU type training for flight members. Being an OB flight member, I flinch at the idea that some people feel so comfortable transporting OB's highest risk patients with so little training, especially when 2 patients are involved (mom and fetus, or more). Knowing from my experience that the OB specialty seems to subscribe to Murphy's law, I feel these patients deserve to be flown by people with much experience in the field; preferably those with both neonatal and HROB experience.
Please reconsider using OB team members on your flights, these patients deserve better. I disagree that this experience could or should be replaced by a 2 day course. Imagine how you would shudder if someone suggested a 2 day course in ER or ICU!!!
Bracing myself for the responses.....eek.
