You can also find a number of interpretive sites by doing an Internet search
on 'HIPAA'.

There was some recent political movement towards delaying or cancelling the
implementation of HIPAA but Secretary Thompson has decided to maintain the
current compliance date (April 2003).  However, he has said there will
likely be modifications.

There was quite a lively discussion on this forum earlier this year so the
Flightmed archives can provide some information with specific regards to
follow-up letters.

I am looking to re-do the way our company accomplishes its follow up
letters.  I know that this  subject was discussed some time ago, but any
information would be most helpful.  If anyone also has information on the
new HIPPA act, this would also be very helpful.
