Transport Ventilator
Hi All
For over 6 years I was involved in "transit care of
the critically ill" (I am not a great fan of the words
"transport" and "retrieval"). We used Drager Oxylog
2000. Its attributes are well known.
We had a custom-built "Patient Care Bridge" built of
Kevlar. 35 Kgs fully laden, compact and fits on to a
stretcher well. (Anaesthesia and Intensive Care 2000;
28: 684-686).
Servo i - the newest in the Servo class of ventilators
- seems very suitable for transport. Frankly, there
will be but a few cases where Drager Oxylog 2000 can't
do the job. I have not used it for this purpose but
happened to see the ventilator on display at a recent
Brussels meeting.
cheers
Ramesh
