Re: wireless all vital signs to a ground physician to monitor the condition of the patient
Dino,
Although a valuable adjunct to patient care, the old saying still
proves true...."You don't treat the monitor... You treat the patient."
Numbers on a screen and a tracing on an oscilloscope are merely a small part
of patient care. In this industry we have worked hard to uphold the
standards we have set for ourselves in the past years. These standards are
that of ongoing diligent patient assessments and skewing our treatments to
optimize the patients outcome. This is a collaborative effort through
coordination with a base physician via telemetry, protocols and meticulous
CQI.
I think your technology will increase the teamwork we already have with
the ground physicians, and maybe allow the flight crew to expand on their
existing protocols. Hopefully it will be a great number of years before were
out of a job and the ground physicians and patients will benefit solely from
this technology.
Good luck in your endevours.
