Re: CFRN REQUIREMENTS
I have to agree here. I think it's great that you are eager to get started
in a career as a flight nurse. However, you really need to get some
experience under your belt before you even consider applying, let alone
taking the CFRN exam. Flight nurses and medics must not only have experience
and knowledge, but confidence in their decision making abilities. This is
not something you can obtain simply because you graduated from school with
honors or passed an exam. I have been a nurse for ten years and flew for
three before I took the exam. I waited because I wanted to be able to say I
had earned the right to call myself a CFRN. If you are ever blessed with the
opportunity to join our profession, you will hopefully appreciate that the
exam is supposed to symbolize your expertise and experience, not your test
taking abilities. I don't know of any programs that would consider you based
on a certification, if you didn't have the experience to back it up. Good
