I am looking for anyone who might have or who can point me in the direction
of any type of study or statistics involving Comm. Spec man hours per
flight..MICU.. phone calls etc. or anything else which takes up time for the
Comm. Spec. We are trying to determine the average workload volume which
each Comm Spec can handle while maintaining safe flight following etc for
our air and ground units before needing to add additional Comm Specs. We
have become in the last few years also the transfer center for our hospital,
which has increased dramatically (75%) over the last 3 years and has taken
our time and attention away from our crews. This is occurring at the same
time we continue to increase in flights and MICU transports each year. We
are trying to give our administration some hard numbers in order to gain
more Comm. Specs for each shift. Any help is appreciated and you can email
