Re: Transport ventilators



Transport vents are a recurring topic on this site.  I
would look in any archives as I have received a lot of
good info in the past.

One of my concerns was oxygen consumption.  Several
vents out there have internal turbines that generate
enough air flow to allow you to minimize oxygen
consumption.  I have used vents in the past that
required more than enough oxygen not because the
patient required a high FiO2, but because the
entrained air was submaximal.  Some have been
described as misers.

Another concern has been the display.  Some have LED,
some LCD's.  Depending on where you plan to use it,
mount it, lighting conditions, etc, will have an
effect on user friendliness.

There are several options, so be sure to shop around.
