Re: IV fluid warmers
That depends on the volume of fluid infusing. Maintenance drips or TKO rates
should not have an adverse effect from 70 degree fluids, unless it changes
the efficacy of a drug. Most fluids, at least in my experience, are infused
at room temperature unless there is a specific need for fluids that are kept
in warmers. In the hospitals where I have worked, the only IV warmer in the
whole facility was typically located in the E.R.
In any regard, this is certainly better than infusing 30 degree IV fluids.
