I don't know Mr. Landis and I would not presume to speak for him, 
but I would urge some caution in getting too animated about the 
quoted remarks.  First question, of course, is the extent to which 
the quote is accurate.  I'm not an avowed media-basher but I've 
been misquoted a time or two so the possibility does exist.

Second, this had to have been a horribly traumatic event for 
everyone involved.  Under such circumstances, it is really 
difficult to field media questions but chances are somebody 
asked if they were going to continue operating.  It's almost 
a universal question from the press under such circumstances
and it requires a direct Yes or No answer.  His statement 
provided that answer and I therefore don't find it at all 
ludicrous.

As far as your questions, they are all good questions and will be 
addressed within the context of what will undoubtedly be a very 
thorough and intensive investigation.  Although I took your comment 
about blame to be aimed at defending the honor of one of the parties 
involved, in the immediate aftermath of a tragedy I think it best 
to not jump to conclusions based on an early media report.
