Survey results

My thanks to everyone who responded to the survey regarding the number of 
dedicated helicopter EMS programs (hospital-based, independent, etc.) and 
helicopters in your state.  I ended up with responses from 45 of the 50 
states (plus the District of Columbia).  Some states had more than one person 
respond.

The totals, based upon the survey information, is 226 programs and 370 
helicopters.  This does not include dual purpose programs (not enough data to 
include them).

I have talked to several people who think these numbers are actually LOW.  
Below is a state-by-state listing of the information I obtained.  Feel free 
to look it over and if you think the data may be incorrect for your state (or 
any state) please let me know.  (States with a "*" had no response and the 
data is estimated from the AirMed Directory.)
