Securing ET Tubes
Co-Ban tape or Co-Flex (a cohesive flexible bandage also works well. It
works very well in the field. Sticks well when wet. Also you can use cloth
tape and a tongue depressor. Take a piece of tape approx 2 feet long. Wrap
the tape the length of the tongue depressor. At the end split the tape
approx. 1 inch length wise. Now the holder is ready. After entubating the
patient, take the split end and wrap around the tube. Then pass tape under
the pt neck. Next come back around the tube and wrap once and then back down
toward the neck. Tear off the excess.

The cheapest and easiest solution is to use IV tubing. Cut off a piece
between the ports, thread both ends thru the roller clamp (difficult but it
can be done). Throw a clove hitch (ask any Boy Scout how to do this) around
the ETT. Take the loop around the patient's head and pull the roller clamp
up tight to secure.
