RE: Safety Question?

We fly twp BO105's with high skids and have timed it as I am sure many crews
have. At this point I have not seen an instance where the few
seconds/minutes was going to outweigh the risks in doing a hot offload. You
can't always be 100% certain that the ground crew that is assisting you
unload is well trained. There is often much adrenalin going on in ground
nurses/residents/and ED aids. I feel this is a situation that I am not able
to control so I OFTEN opt to do cold off loads. As far as hot loads, our
ground crews are well educated in safety training and the crew is able to
control whom and how the ground providers enter the LZ. So often I do hot
loads.
