Re: DNR

Dear Eric

A good question ! The experience of our critical care retrieval service
based in Brisbane, Australia is that it is extremely uncommon - only 2 in
over 3000 transports although several others have died proir to being
stabilised by the flight team ready for transport.
The service uses both fixed and rotary wing aircraft and has average
transport times of 55 minutes for RW and 85 minutes for FW. The vaste
majority of our work is interhospital transport, often to small rural
hospitals, and the 3000 cases quoted above are all critical care with both a
senior flight nurse and a critical care trained physician on board

Cheers
